Blizzard Entertainment has launched Update 11.1.5 for World of Warcraft: The War Within, introducing a range of new and returning content. The update features new limited-time events, UI improvements, and progression incentives for players at various levels. The first of three waves of content has now rolled out onto servers, with additional content scheduled to be released over the coming weeks.
The first significant feature now available is the Nightfall outdoor scenario. In the aftermath of Queen Ansurek’s defeat, players join forces with the new Flame’s Radiance faction to repel the invading Sureki forces in Hallowfall. Participants can expect raid-style encounters, weekly bounties, and a new renowned progression system offering ten levels of rewards, including cosmetic items and combat buffs that apply within the event zones.
In addition to content, a new built-in user interface feature called Cooldown Manager has been introduced. This optional tool lets players monitor important ability cooldowns and buffs through customisable HUD elements. It can be activated via the game’s Advanced Options and tailored in HUD Edit Mode.
The update also activates the Winds of Mysterious Fortune, a limited-time experience and reputation buff available until 20 May 2025. Players between levels 10 and 79 will receive a 20% experience boost and increased renown gains in Dragonflight and The War Within zones, excluding Undermine factions. Mysterious Satchels can also be looted during this period, offering bonus gear and temporary buffs.
Beginning 21 May 2025, Horrific Visions Revisited reintroduces N’Zoth’s visions of Stormwind and Orgrimmar. The revamped content includes new scaling difficulty levels, the ability to bring a companion Construct of Soridormi for solo play, and three new vision masks alongside returning ones. Players can earn a new currency, Displaced Corrupted Mementos, to exchange for various cosmetic and gear rewards.
The final addition, Dastardly Duos, arrives on 4 June 2025 and runs until 15 July 2025. This six-week limited-time event pits players against pairs of bosses in a score-based battle mode hosted by showrunner Vinnie Sweets. Available through hubs in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and Dornogal, the activity offers achievements, powerups, and cosmetic rewards, with new bosses added each week.
