LUNAR Remastered Collection Now Available on Consoles and PC

GungHo Online Entertainment America has officially launched the LUNAR Remastered Collection, a compilation of two classic Japanese role-playing games: LUNAR: Silver Star Story Complete and LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue Complete. The collection is available both digitally and physically on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

Digital editions of the collection are priced at $49.99 USD / €49.99 EUR. Physical editions are also available, with North American fans able to purchase copies for $54.99 USD through Amazon for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. In Europe, physical copies for PS4 and Nintendo Switch are being distributed by Clear River Games for €54.99 EUR.

Originally developed by Game Arts for the PlayStation 1, this remastered edition aims to modernise the original titles while preserving their nostalgic appeal. The LUNAR Remastered Collection includes a number of enhancements, including newly recorded English voiceovers, widescreen support, high-definition pixel art and animated cutscenes, and multiple quality-of-life updates. These include a shared inventory option, customisable battle settings, and two new subtitle language options: French and German.

Both titles retain their turn-based combat systems, which require strategic consideration of each character’s speed, positioning, and attack range. Players also have the option to select between the original Japanese voiceovers or a newly recorded English track, with all characters and enemies now fully voiced during battles. The collection includes both classic and remastered presentation modes, allowing fans to toggle between the original PlayStation-style visuals—with optional CRT filters—and a modernised version featuring widescreen support and high-definition pixel art and cutscenes.

To further improve accessibility, the remastered edition introduces French and German subtitle options alongside the existing English and Japanese. Several quality-of-life enhancements have also been incorporated, including the ability to speed up battles and customise allied CPU behaviour. These updates are designed to streamline gameplay while giving players greater control over how they approach combat and party management.
