Touhou Danmaku Kagura Phantasia Lost, a rhythm and bullet hell hybrid set in the Touhou Project universe, is now available on PlayStation 4. Developed by UnknownX and published by Alliance Arts, the game’s console debut coincides with the announcement of four downloadable song packs scheduled for release throughout 2025.
Each DLC pack will include one original song alongside nine additional tracks, with the first pack arriving in June and subsequent packs planned for August, October, and December. Among the featured songs are fan favourites such as Sake Monster☆RaiRai!! by Shinra-Bansho and Absolute Queen by Laur.
In Touhou Danmaku Kagura Phantasia Lost, players will take on the role of Reimu Hakurei, teaming up with other Touhou characters to investigate the sudden destruction of Gensokyo. The story unfolds through rhythm-based gameplay, where players activate spells and collect memory fragments to uncover the origins of the catastrophe.
Gameplay is divided between two core modes. Kagura mode follows a traditional rhythm game format, where players hit falling notes in sync with the music to achieve high scores. Danmaku mode blends rhythm mechanics with bullet hell elements, challenging players to dodge enemy fire that aligns with the musical beat.
Commenting on the game’s launch, JYUNYA, leader of UnknownX, expressed appreciation for the continued support from fans:
We are beyond grateful for the long-term support we’ve received from the Touhou community, and it’s a great feeling to return the favour with many months of new content on the horizon. It’s a pleasure to bring Phantasia Lost to a brand-new audience on the PlayStation platform. We would like to thank the many artists, our team members, ZUN, Touhou fans, and everyone who continues to breathe life into this beloved series.
