Necrosoft Games and publisher Ysbryd Games have announced that their upcoming tactics RPG Demonschool will launch in the third quarter of 2025. The title will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The announcement was made during the Galaxies Gaming Showcase.
Demonschool combines tactical gameplay with school-life simulation, drawing inspiration from titles such as Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, and the visual style of 1960s–1970s Italian horror cinema. The story follows Faye, a freshman at a haunted island university who is also the last known demon hunter from a renowned bloodline. Alongside her classmates, Faye must uncover supernatural mysteries, battle demonic creatures, and prevent the collapse of the human world.
Combat in Demonschool uses a grid-based, turn-based system with a two-phase structure. In the Planning phase, players can test out and refine their actions before executing them all simultaneously during the Action phase. Strategy is key, with character positioning and synergy enabling powerful combo attacks. Mechanics also allow players to rewind and retry actions within a turn to optimise performance.
The game features 15 playable characters, each with unique abilities. For example, Namako can debuff and stun with rapid dashes, while Ti delivers high-impact rock-based attacks. Outside of combat, players will manage class schedules, extracurricular activities, and social relationships, all of which influence character development and team effectiveness.
Brandon Sheffield, Creative Director at Necrosoft Games, commented on the game’s development and upcoming release:
After a few delays, we have finally shaped Demonschool into the game we set out to create. We’d like to thank our audience for supporting us through the development process and can’t wait for them to fish out every little detail the island has to offer.
