You may recall this title from my recent article “Japanese Games You MAY See Released Internationally During 2013 – Part 2: Tokitowa / Time and Eternity (PS3)“, but while I had expected it to be published by Namco Bandai Games it turns out that Nippon Ichi Software America have acquired it instead! Time and Eternity (Also referred to on this site as Tokitowa / Toki to Towa) is a JRPG developed through a collaboration between Imageepoch, Namco Bandai and Studio Satelight and is set for release in North America and Europe during the summer gaming season exclusively for the Playstation 3 – just in time to take up all your holiday time!
In this brand-new style of hand-drawn animation RPG, you will witness your own death at your wedding before traveling back in time with your wife-to-be in order to track down your killer. A number of DLC items are also expected to be available post-launch.
Just What is the Game About?
Kamza, a vibrant kingdom located on a lush ocean island, is in the midst of a national event celebrating the upcoming marriage of their princess to a valiant knight. But when a group of assassins appears during the ceremony, this dream come true transforms into their worst nightmare. As the knight lays mortally wounded, the princess reveals her long-hidden secret—there is a second soul living within her, and together they control the power to travel through time. But can they act quickly enough to reverse the course of history and find out what happened that fateful day? Only time will tell…

Protagonist

Toki
Toki is the princess of Kamza and the bride at the all important wedding. She has been anxiously awaiting this day but the ceremony is suddenly interrupted…
Toki battles alongside her pet Drake. Her expertise is range combat using the musket, but she is also able to do hand-to-hand combat.
Towa
Towa is the alternate personality of Toki and shares the same body – albeit a slightly different appearance as you can tell. Towa is first unleashed when her wedding is ambushed. Unlike Toki, Towa is direct and aggressive. When this personality surfaces – her hair colour changes from red to blonde.
Unlike her other dual personality Toki, she is a close combat expert. Her weapon of choice is knives and she has various special skills for it. Switch between the two personalities depending on the enemies weaknesses.
