Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced upcoming price adjustments for its PlayStation Plus subscription tiers in Australia, citing ongoing impacts from global market conditions. The revised pricing is intended to support the continued delivery of high-quality games and features to subscribers – but while cheaper than buying individual games on the service outright in many cases – may just be another hit to the balance book of gamers already doing it tough.
The new pricing will come into effect on Wednesday, 16 April 2025, and applies across all three tiers of the service: PlayStation Plus Essential, PlayStation Plus Extra, and PlayStation Plus Deluxe. The updated prices are as follows:
PlayStation Plus Essential
- 1 month: $12.95 AUD
- 3 months: $35.95 AUD
- 12 months: $102.95 AUD
PlayStation Plus Extra
- 1 month: $20.95 AUD
- 3 months: $59.95 AUD
- 12 months: $187.95 AUD
PlayStation Plus Deluxe
- 1 month: $23.95 AUD
- 3 months: $70.95 AUD
- 12 months: $214.95 AUD
Existing subscribers will not see the new prices applied until their next billing cycle on or after Tuesday, 24 June 2025. However, any changes made to subscriptions from 16 April -including upgrades, downgrades, or adding additional time – will be charged at the updated rates.
