Preferred Networks, Inc has announced that Omega Crafter, the cooperative open-world survival crafting adventure, will officially launch into version 1.0 on PC via Steam on 14 May 2025. This follows a period of being available via Steam Early Access.
Seeking to blend action gameplay with coding and automation mechanics, Omega Crafter follows the story of a lead engineer drawn into a developing virtual world plagued by rogue programs. Players can explore the game solo or team up with up to five others, accompanied by the AI companion Grammi, as they work to restore order across five procedurally generated digital landscapes.
The journey begins in the Meadows of New Beginnings, where players learn the basics of crafting and combat. As the story progresses, they’ll face biome-specific bosses, delve into dungeons, and traverse varied landscapes such as the Endless Wilds, the Halloween-themed Halloween Forest, and the Japan-inspired Fallen Samurai Isle.
The version 1.0 release introduces the game’s fifth biome, The Lost World, a new area filled with futuristic ruins and meteorological hazards. Players must construct a radar to track meteor showers and take cover within towers to survive. The update also expands gameplay with twenty-five Shrines of Programming scattered across the world, where players can unlock additional skills and items using in-game coding challenges.
A new Creative Mode has been added in the full release, enabling players to build freely using over 250 building elements without resource constraints. Additional updates include an improved tutorial, new skills and items, minigames, enhanced background music, and a Reverse Item Lookup List for more intuitive item searches.
Automation is pitched as still being central to the gameplay experience, with Grammi able to perform both simple and complex tasks. Players can use basic commands to automate resource gathering or employ more advanced programming structures—such as “if/then” logic and error detection—to streamline multi-step processes like logging and inventory management.
