With The Last of Us Part II Remastered set to be released on the PC starting 4 April 2025, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Naughty Dog have confirmed additional platform-specific features and enhancements that are being made available in the latest port for the series. This version builds on the PlayStation 5 release from earlier in 2024, incorporating all new modes and performance improvements introduced at that time.
PC players will have access to the No Return roguelike survival mode, Guitar Free Play, and hours of developer commentary. In collaboration with Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy, the remastered release includes quality-of-life improvements tailored to PC users, aiming to present the environments of Jackson, Wyoming and Seattle, Washington with enhanced visual fidelity and performance.
Key features of the PC version include support for Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3.1 and 4, VSync, and options for both capped and uncapped framerates. DirectStorage is also supported, improving load times. Players will be able to adjust graphics settings such as texture quality, level of detail, shadow quality, reflections, ambient occlusion, and volumetric effects – based on their PC specs. A specs sheet can be found below:

Ultra-wide monitor support is included, with compatibility for 21:9, 32:9, and 48:9 resolutions, including triple-monitor configurations. The game will support 4K resolution and provide players with a choice between keyboard and mouse or a variety of supported controllers. The DualSense controller will also be supported with haptic feedback enabled. For those who stick with keyboard and mouse, Control customisation options include full remapping, primary and secondary bindings, and an adaptive input mode that allows players to combine keyboard and controller use.

The PC release will also coincide with an update to the No Return mode. Two new playable characters will be introduced — Bill and Marlene — each with distinct play styles. Bill, pitched as a “Smuggler”, benefits from a custom pump shotgun and increased rewards from dead drops, while Marlene’s “Risk Taker” play style includes a custom assault rifle and unique path-shifting abilities during runs. Four new maps will also be added to No Return: Overlook, School, Streets, and Nest — all adapted from locations featured in the main campaign. These updates will also be made available to PlayStation 5 players through a free downloadable patch (version 2.0.0) launching on the same day as the PC version. This update will include the new No Return content, additional Trophies, and further bug fixes.

Optional PlayStation Network account log-in support will be offered on PC, enabling access to PlayStation overlay features and PSN Trophies. Users who log in will also receive 50 in-game points and a new skin for Ellie, featuring a jacket from Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a game currently in development at Naughty Dog. The skin will also be available to PS5 players via the version 2.0 patch.
