KOEI TECMO America and developer Gust have unveiled new details about the world and creatures of their upcoming JRPG, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land. Players will explore the continent of Aladiss alongside protagonist Yumia Liessfeldt as she seeks to uncover the mysteries behind a past cataclysm. A new opening cinematic trailer showcasing the game’s setting and characters has also been released, along with artwork by illustrator Benitama featuring key members of the Aladiss Research team.
In the game, Yumia joins the Aladiss Research team, an organisation led by the Order of Eustella and commanded by Erhard, dedicated to investigating the fallen land of Aladiss. Alongside a team of researchers, adventurers, and mercenaries, Yumia will traverse three distinct regions, each offering its own unique landscapes, mysteries, and inhabitants.
The first region, Ligneus, serves as the team’s base of operations. This area is covered in forests and plains, with remnants of abandoned alchemical research facilities. Players will visit key locations such as the Arbor Botanical Garden and the 8th Laboratory.
The Sivash region introduces a landscape rich in mushroom-like flora and is home to the demihuman Welleks people. Here, Yumia will encounter the Neru, a tribe of monsters capable of human speech, distinguishable by their slender forms and umbrella-like features. Notable sites in this region include Preces Cathedral, a central place of worship, and the ruins of Hermea Academy.
The final known region, Auruma, presents an industrial environment filled with remnants of a once-thriving city. Players will explore ruins that include a tree-like metal structure, an old commercial district, and the Mana Transposing Furnace, which was once vital to the study of mana across Aladiss. In this area, Yumia will meet the Geni tribe, a species recognisable by their bird-like feathers and beaks.
Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is set for release on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC (via Steam) on 21 March 2025, although availability may differ slightly between regions.
