Bend Studio Announces Days Gone Remastered for PlayStation 5 with New Content and Features

-

During this morning’s PlayStation State of Play broadcast, Bend Studio unveiled Days Gone Remastered, a PlayStation 5 digital-only release that brings the post-apocalyptic open-world adventure to a new generation of players. Offering enhanced visuals, new gameplay modes, and expanded accessibility features, this version aims to be the definitive way to experience Deacon St. John’s survival journey.

For those who already own Days Gone on PlayStation 4, an upgrade to Days Gone Remastered will be available for $15 AUD.

Built for the PlayStation 5, this remaster benefits from improved graphical fidelity, enhanced lighting and shadows, increased foliage draw distance, Tempest 3D Audio, VRR support, and performance options. Players can choose between a Quality mode for higher resolution or a Performance mode for smoother framerates. DualSense support is also included, allowing players to feel the terrain, weather effects, and weapon interactions more immersively through haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

New accessibility options have also been added, including High Contrast mode, Game Speed adjustments, UI Narration, Collectible Audio Cues, Controller Remapping, and a Field of View slider.

In addition to technical improvements, Days Gone Remastered introduces several new gameplay features:

  • Horde Assault Mode: A new survival arcade challenge where players face increasingly larger hordes of Freakers and hostile survivors in familiar locations. The longer they survive, the more difficult the enemies become. This mode includes unlockable characters, cosmetic patches, and special Injectors to enhance gameplay.
  • Permadeath Mode: Players can attempt to complete Deacon’s story in a single playthrough without dying. If they fail, they must restart from the beginning or from the start of the second act, depending on their selected setting. Completion rewards include a new PlayStation Trophy and a personalised end-game graphic with unique stats.
  • Speedrun Mode: A new challenge where players race against the clock to complete the story as quickly as possible, with a leaderboard-style end-game graphic for sharing results.
  • Enhanced Photo Mode: Featuring a time-of-day setting, a three-point lighting system, and additional logo options for virtual photographers.

Days Gone Remastered is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5. More details on its additional content and modes will be revealed closer to release.
