Koei Tecmo Games and Gust have shared fresh information about their upcoming JRPG, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land – the new instalment in their flagship and long-running Atelier RPG series. Scheduled for release on 21 March 2025, the game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Windows PC via Steam, and, for the first time in the franchise’s history, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land will see players exploring the Aladiss continent, a land ravaged by a mysterious cataclysm that has made alchemy taboo. The story follows protagonist Yumia Liessfeldt, who embarks on a journey to uncover the truth behind this disaster. Along the way, she is joined by various companions, including Flammi, a self-assured flying creature tied to Yumia’s family history. Other (newly introduced) characters include Licht, a skilled informant; Wilma, an anthropologist with a deep interest in Aladiss’s culture; Erhard, the head of the Research Team; and the Alber, a friendly tribe living across the world.
The game promises a wealth of exploration opportunities, including dungeons and ruins filled with treasures such as “memory vials.” These vials allow players to uncover information about their surroundings and dismantle them for rare synthesis materials. Treasure trove keys found throughout the game unlock valuable items, including “trait crystals” to enhance equipment. Players will also encounter “mana geysers,” which release particles essential for unlocking synthesis recipes. However, exploration will come with challenges, such as “manabound areas,” where dense mana depletes energy, limits abilities, and restricts movement. To counter these effects, players can seek Alstahlia Flowers to restore health and work to clear such areas by discovering and restoring landmarks.
Questing will also form a central part of the experience, with unique missions tied to Yumia’s companions, general quests, and exploration-based location quests unlocked by discovering landmarks and Shrines of Prayers.
To celebrate the release, a special Premium Box edition will be available for pre-order exclusively through the NIS America Store. This edition includes the base game, Yumia’s stuffed animal, an artbook, a set of six decorative keychains, a CD featuring extra tracks, and a short story with a translation booklet. Additionally, early purchases of either the physical or digital editions within the first two weeks of release will grant players exclusive in-game bonuses, including the “Athlete of Memories” costume for Yumia, the “Floating Object of Memories” costume for Flammi, and the “Training Wrist Weight” equipment.
