Good Shepherd Entertainment alongside developer Violet Saint, has revealed Moroi, a dark fantasy hack-and-slash adventure inspired by Romanian folklore, heavy metal, and the surreal works of David Lynch. The game is set to launch on PC in Early 2025, with a Steam page already live HERE.
Motoi will see players enter the Cosmic Engine, a sprawling labyrinth filled with nightmarish corridors and grotesque horrors. With no memory of their name, past, or sins, players will fight to survive this grimdark fantasy world. The game blends dark comedy with psychological horror as players confront disturbing enemies and solve unconventional puzzles.
Combat seeks to provide a diverse range of grotesque weaponry, including a duck with razor-sharp teeth and a flying brain capable of launching projectiles. Players will battle an array of foes, including mages, guards, and the undead, while uncovering secrets hidden within the labyrinth’s depths. Beyond combat, Moroi hopes to challenge players with macabre puzzles that require unconventional approaches. Tasks may involve drinking blood, regurgitating objects, or scavenging through grotesque remains. Success often demands a willingness to endure suffering, with each puzzle unlocking further exploration of the Cosmic Engine.
The narrative unfolds through interactions with eccentric characters, dark humour, and choices that shape the player’s journey. With multiple endings available, the decisions players make will influence whether their escape brings salvation or something far worse.
More information on Motoi is expected in the coming weeks and months.
