Crossroads Live Australia has announced the release of additional performances for the Melbourne season of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s celebrated rock musical, Jesus Christ Superstar. The production will run at the Melbourne Princess Theatre from 16 March, with tickets available for pre-sale from today and on general sale from Friday. With the addition of these new performances, patrons can purchase tickets for sessions through to 1 June 2025
Coinciding with the opening of new ticket sales, Producer John Frost of Crossroads Live shared his enthusiasm about the upcoming Melbourne run:
I am delighted at the tremendous response from Melbourne audiences to the news that Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s much loved rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar will soon be at the Princess Theatre. Audience reactions to performances in Sydney have been overwhelming. This award-winning production, led by Michael, Javon, Mahalia and Reuben, will be a special experience for people who remember the cherished concept album or past Australian productions, or audiences new to the show. Get your tickets now while you still can.
Jesus Christ Superstar explores the final weeks of Jesus Christ’s life through the perspective of Judas Iscariot, set against a rock-infused score featuring iconic songs such as I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Gethsemane, and Superstar.
Ticketing information for the ongoing Sydney and upcoming Perth and Melbourne seasons are available via the musicals official website. While ticket sales are not underway yet, interested persons can also add their name to a waitlist for the Brisbane season, set to commence in June 2025.
