Sports Interactive and SEGA are preparing for the release of Football Manager 25, set to launch globally on 26 November 2024. The upcoming title seeks to introduce significant advancements over previous instalments, with the series now running on the Unity engine, marking a major leap in both technical and visual design.
One of the most significant inclusions in Football Manager 25 is the inclusion of Women’s Football, integrated into the same football ecosystem as the men’s game. This addition is made possible through a new multi-year partnership with the Premier League, which aims to provide an even more immersive football experience. The game’s user interface has also undergone a complete overhaul, hoping to offer a smoother, more intuitive experience without sacrificing depth. New player animations, drawn from real football matches, and enhanced graphics hope to bring matchdays to life more vividly.
Alongside the release for PC and Mac, Football Manager 25 Console for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will launch on the same day. Both versions, including the PC/Mac edition, will be available via Xbox Game Pass. The Nintendo Switch version, Football Manager 25 Touch, will follow on 3 December, with more details to be shared closer to its release. Football Manager 25 Mobile, exclusive to Netflix subscribers, will also launch on 26 November. Despite not switching to the Unity engine, this version will feature Women’s Football and the Premier League licence, while allowing players to carry over save files from FM24 Mobile.
Studio Director Miles Jacobson shared his thoughts on the upcoming release:
It’s a great honour today to be confirming the forthcoming release of Football Manager 25. As I’ve mentioned in interviews and development updates, the FM25 cycle has been challenging for the entire SI team. FM25 is just the starting point for the studio’s next 20, 30 years. It’s also the point where the world gets to see two of our multi-year projects come to fruition: the switch to the Unity engine and the introduction of Women’s Football. It gives us a real sense of achievement to begin sharing our hard work with you and we’re really looking forward to showing you more of the game in the weeks before the game’s release.
