Who can say no to more Goro Majima? SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have officially announced the next instalment in the Like a Dragon series, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. The game, which stars Goro Majima, the iconic character in the series formerly known in English as Yakuza, is set to release globally on 28 February 2025, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam)
Revealed during the recent RGG Summit livestream, this action-adventure game takes place one year after the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Majima finds himself stranded on a deserted island, having survived a shipwreck. With no memory of who he is, Majima embarks on a journey across the ocean, accompanied by a boy named Noah, who saved his life. Together, they become entangled in a conflict involving modern pirates, criminals, and the search for a legendary treasure.

Players will guide Majima as he recruits a crew and upgrades his ship, the “Goromaru”, while battling pirate enemies across both seas and hidden islands. Combat aims to offer a dynamic experience, allowing players to switch between two distinctive fighting styles: the “Sea Dog” style, which utilises dual-wielded short swords and pirate tools for explosive attacks, and the “Mad Dog” style, showcasing Majima’s signature speed, agility, and flair.
Two editions of the game will be made available: a Standard Edition, and a Collector’s Edition. The latter is set to include the base game, Deluxe Edition DLC Code, and special limited merchandise, including a replica of Goro Majima’s eye patch, treasure coin pin, and more.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii follows the release of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth earlier this year, an incredibly satisfying experience which is also primarily set in Hawaii through the perspectives of Ichiban Kasuga and long-time series protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu.
