Now well into the swing of things and their regular releases of new in-game seasons, Square Enix has rolled out their fourth season for their ‘Third-Person Foam Shooter’, FOAMSTARS, titled Future Funk. This newest content update, provides players with three new maps to foam and slide their way through, in addition to new events, and more
The aforementioned new maps will be distributed across each of the game’s mode, each with a different aesthetic and designed with that specific mode in mind, including:
Smash The Star / Manami An: A VIP resort of a floating island out at sea that features a sprawling Zen Garden.
Happy Bath Survival / Ghoulish Glide Graveyard: Players can look forward to working their way through a terrifying theme park filled with sneaky paths and a giant coffin adorning the centre of the stage.
Rubber Duck Party / Sing Swing: The grand marquee of a Bath Vegas circus troupe, this map will see players fighting for control of the duck with the aid of launch poppers for quick shortcuts and a bridge to hold their ground.
Additionally, in the new Extreme Party, you can knock players off a brand-new map in the Coiff Guy Pitchside Homerun Party! Furthermore you have the One-Shot Chill Party, a 2-vs-2 battle where you can foam up an opponent with a single shot.
Other additional promoted additions include:
- New Free Skins: Take on limited-time challenges to unlock 8 new skins inspired by hololive’s virtual streamers.
- Free Weekly Items: Check out the FOAMSTARS shop every Friday for free items. This month don’t miss out on a new Mel T dance, two new foam guns with Jet Justice’s Green Poison and Soa’s Green Checked, a new Slideboard and more!
- Happy FriYAY Party: A limited-time party event to try-out next season’s new FOAMSTAR.
- Ranked Party: Two limited-time seasonal events, the solo player-based Ranked Party Lonestar and team-based Ranked Party Tribe-Vibe.
With this being a new season, there is of course, new season pass rewards on offer. You can earn exclusive items each season via gaining XP (experience points) by playing battles, Missions, and completing challenges to advance through season tiers and earn rewards. As is the norm, the base pass is free, allowing you to get your hands on a range of rewards, including new skins and items for Soa, ΔGITO, Tonix and Chloe Noir. Furthermore, there is the paid Premium Pass to unlock additional rewards within the season pass, including immediate access to Rave Breaker’s “UNDEAD” skin.
FOAMSTARS is now available from Square Enix exclusively on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
