Following its original light novel roots followed by manga and anime adaptations – video games are the next frontier that the Japanese multimedia franchise That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (or TenSura for short). Published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and developed by ZOC Co. Ltd, this project will take the form of an action RPG titled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles, set to release on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC starting 8 August 2024.
In That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles, players will follow leader Rimuru Tempest and companions as they build their nation, , the Jura Tempest Federation, from the ground up and develop it. This 2D side scrolling RPG follows the original story such as the encounters with the Kijin and the battle against the Kingdom of Falmuth. In addition to serving as a means for newcomers to become acquainted to the universe of TenSura through an interactive medium, the game will also feature two additional stories supervised by original author, Fuse. Players can also expect new characters designed by the original illustrator of the series to go along with these new stories
Leaving town, players will discover the world of Tempest through exploration, where heated battles against foes and bosses await, with dynamic combos and techniques from the anime. They will also be able to take on sub-quests when back in town, helping their companions, strengthening their relationships and fighting skills at the same time. More information on these gameplay mechanics are expected in the months leading to launch.
