A couple of years have now passed since FROM Software and Bandai Namco Entertainment paired up to deliver what could be considered one of the defining games of this decade – Elden Ring. Now in 2024 and it has been confirmed that an expansion to the challenging open-world action adventure game, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is well and truly in the works and will be released globally on 21 June 2024.
In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree players step into the Land of Shadow to explore a new adventure full of mysteries and danger, with the promises of new threatening bosses, along with new weapons, armour and other rewards to discover. Follow in the footsteps of Miquella and unravel the dark side of the Elden Ring story.
All platforms that Elden Ring received an initial release on will support the expansion – the PC, and both current and last generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
There will be a few different ways of purchasing Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, dependent on how much money you wish to spend in order to do so. The basic option would to either purchase the standard version of the expansion digitally, as if it were DLC. Alternatively, a special packaged bundle containing the game (disc) and expansion (digital) will also be available.
There are also other options, from the Premium Bundle which comes with a digital artbook and soundtrack, the Deluxe Edition which is the same but including the base game and the digital goodies for both base game and expansion, and an Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Collector’s Edition which consists of a digital voucher code for the expansion, a 46cm tall statue of “Messmer the Impaler,” and a 40-page physical art book, and digital soundtrack.
