It seems like SINoALICE is not yet over, despite the mobile game’s final servers, the Japan servers, shuttering its doors last week. It’s been unveiled that a “fan movie” titled SINoALICE Ichiban Saigo no Monogatari (Aka. SINoALICE The Last Story | シノアリス 一番最後のモノガタリ) has been produced, and will premiere in Japan on 23 February 2024.
The film is being produced by Square Enix, with animation by ILCA. It features Tact Aoki as director, music by Keiichi Okabe and monaca, and many of the game’s voice cast members confirmed as returning – including M.A.O as Alice, Eri Kitamura as Cinderella, and more.
The film follows the protagonist, Alice, a player of a game known as SINoALICE. She despairs for the world and ends up jumping off a building. However when she wakes up, she finds herself in the world of SINoALICE, the Library. Here, she is greeted by Gishin and Anki. They relentlessly confront her with how terrible her life has been, driving her into despair. However, the characters of SINoALICE unite to face against the pair…
This is also pitched as the End of SINoALICE’s Story, one that hopefully may eventually receive a worldwide release, and allow all players to enjoy a universal ending to this unique experience by Yoko Taro et al.
In addition to the fan film, Square Enix has also commenced offering the game’s third and final official soundtrack. Sadly, it seems that no second artbook is on the way.
