During tonight’s Nintendo Direct conference, it was announced that one of ATLUS’ first Wii U titles would be an unspecified crossover game between their Shin Megami Tensei franchise and Nintendo’s Fire Emblem franchise. The above trailer simply highlights characters in sets of two from Shin Megami Tensei games (More specifically, Protagonist and Heroine from I, Aleph and Hiroko from II, the Male and Female protagonists from If, Protagonist and Chiaki Hayasaka from III and Protagonist and Isabeau from IV) as well as a number of characters from the Fire Emblem series.
Just what links these two series together to merit a crossover and just what this game will entail remains a mystery…. but it doesn’t seem like it will include any characters outside of the main Shin Megami Tensei series (As all but III have been released on an Nintendo console at some point). Hopefully in the build up ATLUS USA might consider FINALLY localizing and releasing the first few Shin Megami Tensei games which were never officially localized, but other than that I shall reserve my excitement until I hear more into the game.
