Aksys Games and Dreamloop Games Announce Launch Date for Social Thriller ‘Inescapable: No Rules, No Escape’

Aksys Games in collaboration with developer Dreamloop Games, have revealed that the social thriller, Inescapable: No Rules, No Escape, is set to launch on 19 October 2023, on both the PC and a selection of consoles including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Inescapable is a narrative adventure set at a tropical island resort, where you’ve been kidnapped and forced to participate in a twisted reality TV show with 10 strangers. They each stand to win $500,000, provided they survive… if only that were an easy feat.

Set on an island devoid of any laws or rules for contestants to adhere to, Inescapable: No Rules, No Escape is a game that revolves around survival and pleasing a corrupt audience tuning in via a Dark Web TV show. The plot delves into human nature, examining how far individuals may be willing to go to achieve social fame, wealth, or personal satisfaction, particularly when the boundaries of ethics and regulations are removed.

Furthermore, players’ actions in ‘Inescapable: No Rules, No Escape’ are designed to have a broader impact than just influencing the game’s ending. The game has the player serving as the moral compass for the character Harrison. As a result, choices made by the player shape interactions with other characters, subsequently altering significant segments of the story, the reality show’s dynamics, and even the game mechanics.

Joni Lappalainen, CEO of Dreamloop, elaborated on the game’s distinctiveness, sharing:

Inescapable: No Rules, No Escape isn’t a Death Game. Or, more accurately, it isn’t just a Death Game. Here, your relationship with other characters is game-defining. It’s about how six months in the most insane circumstances you can imagine might change you. Player choices and actions matter more in Inescapable: No Rules, No Escape than almost any other game we’ve seen in the genre, and it isn’t just limited to dialogue choices.
