Pokémon Sleep Now Available in European and Other Select Markets

While a bit on the “huh?” side of Pokémon integrated phone apps, The Pokémon Company International has this week launched their sleep tracking app, Pokémon Sleep onto the iOS App Store and Android Google Play Store.

With a caveat that you should not “place your device under your pillow or blankets, as it may overheat” and that “Pokémon Sleep is intended for entertainment purposes only and is not intended for use in detection, diagnosis or treatment of any medical condition or disease”, this app has players place their smartphone device or Pokemon GO Plus+ peripheral by their pillow as they go to sleep. Then they wake up, they can check the results of the sleep tracking, study the sleep styles of the Pokémon that have appeared, and work together with Pokémon sleep researcher Professor Neroli to record them in the Sleep Style Dex.

The more sleep players get, the bigger their personal Snorlax becomes. This allows you to meet more Pokémon and discover more sleeping styles. Of course knowing my tossing and turning at night, it is a one-way ticket to yeeting my phone off the bed mid-sleep.

Additionally, as mentioned above, the Pokémon GO Plus+ peripheral is now available in select markets. Players who connect their device with Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon GO will earn various in-game bonuses, including a nightcap-wearing Pikachu that players can meet in Pokémon Sleep, or take on Special Research and earn an encounter with Snorlax wearing a nightcap within Pokémon GO.
