In the late hours of yesterday evening, HoYoverse hosted their regular incoming-update livestream, where they unveiled their next ‘Summer’ update for Genshin Impact, titled Genshin Impact Version 3.8: Secret Summer Paradise. This update is confirmed to be going live on all servers starting 5 July 2023, and will see the introduction of a new limited-time map, new open world gameplay, new outfits for two beloved Mondstadt characters, a long-awaited re-run of Eula, and more. The update will introduce players to Veluriyam Mirage, an expansive terrain, featuring towering hills, lush valleys, enigmatic caves, and a range of amusement facilities. Two distinct open-world game modes allow players to traverse the Mirage. Choo-Choo Cart offers a roller-coaster-like experience as it transports players throughout the area, while Preprint mode teleports them into a two-dimensional realm where they can unravel hidden puzzles and unearth treasures. Players can also amass Joyeux Vouchers during their explorations, which can be redeemed for various rewards, including Kaeya’s new outfit.
In addition to the aforementioned features, Veluriyam Mirage will host four exclusive summer events and attractions, providing players with additional bonuses. Among the attractions, players will have the opportunity to recruit the four-star cryo-element character Layla for free. “Spino Blaster” is one of the attractions and is a water cannon shooting game. “Dance of Flashing Thought” offers an array of combat challenges with distinct attributes. “Sojourns of the Barking Fox” allows players to control a miniature Barking Fox in an aerial speed race, while “Bing-Bang Finchball” is an updated shuffle-board game.
Further enhancements with Version 3.8 includes the rerun of familiar characters and the introduction of new outfits. Klee and Eula will be making a comeback during the first half of the update through Event Wishes, followed by the return of Sangonomiya Kokomi and Wanderer in the latter half. Additionally, Klee and Kaeya will be outfitted with new costumes, and Kaeya will be featured in his Hangout Event in the new version.
The update will also expand the content of Genius Invokation TCG, incorporating a novel PvE mode titled “The Forge Realm’s Temper: Endless Swarm”. This mode will challenge players to withstand unending onslaughts of adversaries within a fixed number of rounds. Additionally, three new Character Cards – Candace, Yanfei, and Kaedehara Kazuha – will be included. This new content promises to add depth and variety, ensuring that players will have a host of new adventures and challenges to undertake in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact Version 3.8: Secret Summer Paradise is set to launch on 5 July 2023 as a free update for Genshin Impact on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android platforms.
