Long-Hinted at Playable Character Yaoyao Featured in New Genshin Impact Illustration

Having been originally discovered in the earliest beta files for Genshin Impact, the development team at Hoyoverse have been very tight lipped on if or when the young Yaoyao would make her physical or playable appearance in the popular open world adventure-exploration game. After appearing in key artwork a couple of years ago and appearing in a few character’s voice lines, a post on the official @GenshinImpact Twitter page indicate that she may not be too far away.

Version 3.X is shaping up to be quite a sweep for characters with the kid-female / short-female body type in-game. Joining the already available Qiqi (Pictured above, Right), Klee, Diona and Sayu from previous updates will be Dori (Just made available), Nahida (Not officially announced but almost guaranteed), and now potentially Yaoyao.

No specifics are available on what Yaoyao’s element or weapon will be, but there has been a long-held rumour that she will be of the dendro element, which given it only became available in v3.0, could be why she hasn’t made an appearance yet.
