The weekend before last saw Madman Entertainment giving away free posters for Cardcaptor Sakura at SMASH! along with the appearance of Sakura’s Japanese VA Sakura Tange. While she does not seem to be in attendance at this weekends AVCon event in Adelaide, Australia (Instead both Crispin Freeman and Cassandra Lee will be in attendance *Jealous*), Madman Entertainment still have posters and will be giving them away at their booth during the event.
This is to celebrate their upcoming release of Cardcaptor Sakura on DVD this September. Unlike all previous releases to the Australian market, this will make use of the original Japanese dub with English subtitles and high-definition masters – hopefully delivering the best Cardcaptor Sakura viewing experience currently made available to the English market. The first part will contain the first 35 episodes, with the second to be made at a later date containing the remainder. The possibility of the movie episodes being released as well will depend on in part how well the collections sell.
Curiosity is part of any 10-year old’s life, but Sakura just broke the seal on a magical book and released all of the mischievous spirits imprisoned on the cards inside! Kero, the “Guardian of the Clow Cards” is horrified to find all of the cards gone and tells Sakura she must become the “Cardcaptor” and retrieve the spirits before they work their mischief in the world.
