Jeff Rubenstein from the Official US Playstation Blog has today shared an interview between himself and Hideo Baba, producer of the Tales series at Namco Bandai Games. Most of the interview is dedicated to stuff we know previously from other interviews and releases made during the Japanese promotions (Game systems, Two main character storylines, hopes to bring as many Tales games overseas as possible etc). The final question proved interesting however, as quoted below:
PSB: Tales of Xillia came out in Japan last year, but won’t drop in the West until next year. With this extra time, will the team provide any additions to the international version?
HB: I understand this concern well, but we consider the Japanese version of the game as a finished product and hope overseas fans can enjoy the game as it is. The same can be said for all the DLC content as well. There is no big change between the original Japanese version and the international version because we want to provide the same gameplay experience as much as possible between all regions.
Therefore, this means there should be no omissions or inclusions to the game, and all DLC content that was released for the Japanese version should be making its way onto our PSN stores upon the games release in 2013. A fortnight ago when the game was officially announced for English localization, I wrote up an article entitled “The Many DLC Costumes of Tales of Xillia – What You May Expect To See as DLC Content In The Upcoming English Release“ which detailed the DLC content released for the game in Japan. With any luck the cost will be slightly reduced however.
