With so much competition in the mobile game market, reaching ones first anniversary can be a challenge. But no stranger to publishing games in the international market, YoStar are now celebrating the first year of strategic mobile RPG Arknights. This includes an Episode 7 update, in-game events for players to claim rewards, an art competition and music collaborations. You can read more about each of these below:
Episode 7: The Birth of Tragedy and New Rewards
The first-anniversary event has prepared a bunch of in-game giveaways. From today, players will get one free roll every day for two weeks, and an additional log-in reward. Meanwhile, Operator Savage will be sent to players via in-game mail. Later, a sign-in event will also reward players with gifts including a free Amiya outfit – Fresh Fastener and Operator THRM-EX. New operators, W (Limited), Weedy, and Elysium will be available at headhunting. As for the Store, 6 brand new outfits and a new Sarkaz furniture set will be in place as well.
Episode 7 “The Birth of Tragedy” will also be rolling out. This will see players fight against the disciplined army led by Patriot and get a deeper understanding of the conflicts between Rhodes Island and Reunion.
Arknights x Deviantart Contest
Partnering up with DeviantArt, Yostar has announced a fan art content for the first anniversary of Arknights. Over $18,000 USD in prizes will be available and shared among the winners. This special event aims to encourage artists to show their own takes on Arknights’ operators and celebrate players’ contributions to the community.
New Merchandise
Steve Aoki’s label, Dim Mak, is going to have an Arknights collection of merch released to mark the first anniversary. This content includes a skate deck, a 1st anniversary art book and more to be rolled out in the near future.
Let there be music!
One of my favourite elements of Arknights is its amazing, moody soundtrack. And clearly this is something that is of importance to the developer as well. As part of the 1st anniversary livestream, they played Jeff Williams X Arknights theme song for the first time ever. They also teased Steve Aoki and Yellow Claw collab soundtrack for Episode 7.
The very first portion of the livestream featured an opening sequence with the song Come to Light feat. Casey Lee Williams, which was composed by Williams. You can listen to the song yourself by clicking HERE.
This specially customized soundtrack blends Jeff Williams’ iconic and impactful music style perfectly into Arknights worldview, leading players to witness Amiya and Doctor’s journey in the past year one more time. Casey Lee Williams’ passionate and engaging voice introduces the struggles and changes on both Rhodes Island and the Reunion side, corresponding to the main theme of Arknights 1st Anniversary – “We Are Arknights”.
