Long time game developer TAITO Corporation this week confirmed that later this year they would be bringing two new works to both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch platforms, titled: Darius Cozmic Revelation and Bubble Bobble 4. Neither are new intellectual properties for the company, and are instead news releases of iconic works from their days developing for arcade units in the early 1980s. You can read more on each below:
Darius Cozmic Revelation
Darius Cozmic Revelation includes a pair of 3D games from Taito’s horizontal shooter game series, DARIUS, which first debuted in arcades during 1986. The two games included in the title are G-DARIUS HD, and DARIUSBURST AC EX+, both of which will include updated features to appeal to both newcomers and longtime fans of the series.
Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron is Back
Previously released on the Nintendo Switch, Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron is Back is an updated edition being released exclusively for the PlayStation 4. This version features 100 new stages and a special appearance of “fan favourite villain” Baron von Blubba.
This is not the only announcement for the series, with it being confirmed that a new Puzzle Bobble VR Title for the Oculus Quest, from the development team at Survios, is also in development.
Both Darius Cozmic Revelation and Bubble Bobble 4 are actively in development and are due to launch later this year or early 2021.
