Last week, Sony Interactive Entertainment was due to hold a live stream in which they unveiled new details about their upcoming PlayStation 5 next-generation console and its games. Given the circumstances which have taken place in the United States over the past couple of weeks, and the ongoing protests around police brutality and the death of George Floyd; they understandably postponed the event as they wanted to “stand back and allow more important voices to be heard”.
If you have been anxiously awaiting this event, you need to wait only a few more days. Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed the event will take place on 12 June 2020 at 6.00 am AEST, 11 June 2020 at 1.00 pm PDT or 11 June 2020 at 9.00 pm BST.
A new statement posted on the official PlayStation Blog by Senior Director (SIE Content Communications Sid Shuman indicates that this will be a pre-taped program airing at 1080p and 30 frames per second and that the “games you’ll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as you’d expect“.
PlayStation Twitch and Youtube channels. They have described the content being showcased as providing “players with a peek into the future looking at the games available to players after the PS5 launches this holiday “. While by no means confirmed, here’s hoping for our first look at the console design we will be seeing on our shelves for the next few years, as well.
