Key / Visual Art’s – Rewrite is now available in Japan

-

Whilst I am slightly late posting this, for those that are interested in new Visual Novels by KEY, you will be happy to know that their ninth game series, Rewrite, was made available on the 24th of June. This like Little Busters and Clannad, has been released initially as an All-Ages version and does not contain any adult content. However, at this time, there has been no announcement of either an English Release or a Translation Project, however as with most KEY visual novel releases, it wouldn’t surprise me if there was at least a fan-based translation at some point in the future. For those interested in the plotline, here is the blurb that is posted on The Visual Novel Database:

Rewrite is set in the fictional city Kazamatsuri where treeplanting and afforestation have caused the city to become overgrown with trees and flowers in much the same way that other cities are filled by buildings. However, while most of the city appears to be rural, there are many traditional city elements as well. While set in a modern setting, the city also gives off a strange sense of nostalgia. The basis of the story is set in a high school setting. The first half of Rewrite primarily consists of the characters interacting in many everyday, enjoyable scenes. The latter half, however, is more serious, emotional, and carries a sense of mystery to the plot.

As indicated by the title, rewriting is the theme of the game’s scenario. The tagline for the game is, “Could it possibly be rewritten, that fate of her’s?”.

In other words, it will no doubt be as interesting as previous ones such as Little Busters, Clannad, Kanon and Air. If you want more information on this title, or would like to download a trial version of the title, you can visit the official website at the following link: http://key.visualarts.gr.jp/rewrite/index.html. For those who like little bits and pieces of art, they also have a sizable page of different pieces of artwork by different artists, which you can see HERE. For those interested in the other trailers for the series, they are available after the jump!
