Square Enix has continued its multi-platform expansion, today confirming that Final Fantasy XVI is now available digitally for Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Xbox Play Anywhere. The company also announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be releasing on Xbox Series X|S for the first time closer to the end of 2025.
Released today, Final Fantasy XVI arrives both as its base game edition and a ‘Complete Edition’ bundle, bringing together the whole experience with its dual DLC chapters – Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide. The game supports Xbox Play Anywhere, offering players cross-entitlement and cross-save functionality across console, PC, and cloud platforms.
Players who purchase either version of Final Fantasy XVI will receive several in-game bonuses, including the Blood Sword, Braveheart Sword, Brave Blade, Cait Sith’s Charm, and the Sixteen Bells Orchestrion. A demo is also available for Xbox Series X|S, allowing players to begin Clive’s journey with progress carrying over to the full release.
Looking ahead, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will make its debut on Xbox this winter. An enhanced version of the original 2020 release, the game features an additional storyline following the character Yuffie, as well as upgraded visuals and performance. Players will experience the first chapter of Cloud Strife’s journey through the city of Midgar. There is no word on when the second chapter, released last year for PlayStation 5 and later the PC, will be made available on Xbox.
