Following leaks of the games preview trailers in recent days, it was announced during the latest Xbox Showcase event that both a remake of the original Persona 3, titled Persona 3 Reload and a new tactical spin-off game around Persona 5, titled Persona 5 Tactica, are currently in the works for release in the coming months. Both have been formally announced for release on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, with good indications that both PlayStation and Nintendo Switch versions could be released.
Persona 3 Reload
Surprisingly close to their release of Persona 3 Portable on consoles, Persona 3 Reload will be a full remake of the original PlayStation 2 RPG, once again following S.E.E.S. as they fight against shadows during the hidden 25th hour, the ‘Dark Hour’, in a mission that could spell the death of humanity if they fail.
Promoted features of this release include:
Experience the pivotal game of the Persona series faithfully remade with cutting-edge graphics, modernized quality-of-life features, and signature stylish UI.
Fully immerse yourself in an emotional, gripping journey with new scenes, character interactions, and additional voiceover.
Choose how to meaningfully spend each day through various activities from exploring the Port Island to forging genuine bonds with beloved characters.
- Build and command your optimal team to take down otherworldly Shadows and climb closer to the truth.
What I would note is that there is no sign that certain features of Persona 3 FES such as ‘The Answer’ arc do not appear to be included. A shame given this is a canonical chapter.

Persona 3 Reload is slated to release on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC in Early 2024. As was the case with the ports of Persona 3 Portable | Persona 4 | Persona 5 Royal, expect to hear about PlayStation and Nintendo versions in the future.
Persona 5 Tactica
Featuring a visual style similar to that of Persona Q2, Persona 5 Tactica has also been announced for release on 17 November 2023.
As the graduation ceremony approaches, the members of the “Phantom Thieves of Hearts” gather at Leblanc on a snowy day. Suddenly, the cafe is shaken by a large tremor and something unusual happens as the usual door of Leblanc begins to emit a mysterious light. With caution, they open the door, only to find themselves in an unfamiliar otherworld.
In the midst of a mysterious townscape reminiscent of medieval Europe, Joker and the others are ambushed by an enigmatic armed group, and find themselves in a dire situation. At that moment, they are saved by a person calling themselves “Revolutionary Elle,” and the Phantom Thieves end up agreeing to her proposition to cooperate in a revolution…?
With a confirmed release date less than six months away, expect to hear more about Persona 5 Tactica in the coming months. As with Persona 3 Reload, it is only confirmed for release on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, but I would be surprised if they didn’t also release it on PlayStation platforms, and perhaps Nintendo platforms as well.
