Sequel to Farming Simulator 20, developer and publisher GIANTS Software has rolled out Farming Simulator 23 onto the Nintendo Switch. This latest instalment in the long-running Farming Simulator series introduces fresh crops, machinery, maps, and gameplay features…. including chickens! Everyone likes chickens!
The latest Farming Simulator experience boasts increased complexity in terms of fleet and features. The game offers more than 100 digitized machines from globally renowned manufacturers including Case IH, CLAAS, DEUTZ-FAHR, Fendt, John Deere, KRONE, Massey Ferguson, New Holland, and Valtra. The inclusions of these assets seek to allow players to engage in a range of relaxing and rewarding farm activities while utilising real-world devices.
In Farming Simulator 23, players will discover two new maps – Amberstone and Neubrunn. These maps will change with the seasons, aiming to encourage exploration and the discovery of various collectibles. The game also broadens its crop variety, adding grapes, olives, and sorghum to a total selection of 14 crops.
New gameplay mechanics introduced include ploughing and weeding, allowing players to take better care of their fields. Furthermore, production chains have been added to the game hoping to bring an added level of complexity. Players now have the opportunity to create valuable goods from their crops – for example, wheat can be turned into flour, which can then be used to bake bread and pastries at the in-game bakery. Adding to the diversity of the game’s farming fun, Farming Simulator 23 introduces chickens to the existing livestock that includes cows, horses, pigs, and sheep.
Commenting on the launch, Boris Stefan, Head of Publishing at GIANTS Software, epressed pride in reinforcing the series’ standing in the family-friendly genre and more:
Farming Simulator 23 is now available to purchase on the Nintendo Switch. For those on other platforms, typically the mainline games are typically released every two years, with expectations that it will be Farming Simulator 24.
