Opening Cinematic Revealed for Coming-of-Age RPG, Loop8: Summer of Gods

While still several months out from the game’s Early June 2023 release date, Marvelous Europe and developer SIEG Games has shared the opening cinematic for Loop8: Summer of Gods, pitched as a narrative-driven time-travelling coming-of-age RPG.

This trailer sets out to give future players a look at many of the characters they’ll have the opportunity to befriend, the locales accessible to explore and enemies to face throughout their journey. The cinematic also showcases the game’s stunning art style, with its detailed, watercolor-inspired scenery and anime-influenced character designs over a musical backdrop provided by the original song “Genfunkei” sung by NaHo/QiSui.

Loop8: Summer of Gods follows protagonist Nini and his classmates as they try to defeat the Kegai, demonic entities who have forced humanity to the brink of extinction. Raised on a failed space station known as “Hope,” Nini returns to Earth to spend his summer in Ashihara, one of humanity’s last remaining sanctuaries. Gifted with “Demon Sight,” Nini can use his special connection to the gods to reset the world, with each loop allowing him and his allies to relive the 8th month over and over until they get it right…or the Kegai overwhelm them entirely.

Loop8: Summer of Gods will be launching 6 June 2023 on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
