Game Boy and Game Boy Advance Games Being Added to Nintendo Switch Online

Continuing to expand their game libraries as part of the Nintendo Switch Online service, albeit perhaps not fast enough to the tastes of some, Nintendo used their livestream earlier today to confirm that a selection of classic Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games will be made available via the service as of right now. Access to the selection of Game Boy games only requires the base online service, while GBA games require the pricier expansion pass option – which also includes access to the current N64 library.

You can use Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket or Game Boy Color screen filters to help customize your play style. And, up to two (GB) or four (GBA) players can play compatible games together locally or online for the first time. Games available at the launch of the service includes:

Original Game Boy

  • Tetris®
  • Super Mario Land 2 – 6 Golden Coins
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX
  • GARGOYLE’S QUEST
  • Game & Watch Gallery 3
  • Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare
  • Metroid II – Return of Samus
  • Wario Land 3
  • Kirby’s Dream Land

Game Boy Advance

  • Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
  • WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$
  • Kuru Kuru Kururin
  • Mario Kart: Super Circuit
  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Other games to be added in the future include The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Ages, Pokémon Trading Card Game, Kirby Tilt ‘n’ Tumble, Metroid Fusion, Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, Fire Emblem, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, and Golden Sun.
