FMV Propaganda Simulation Game ‘Not For Broadcast’ to Receive Ports, New DLC in March 2023

Mister Bear, what's that over there? Again!

While its original release plans were hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic, between 2020 and 2022, NotGames and publisher TinyBuild slowly created the FMV-driven part-comical, part-propaganda driven simulation game Not for Broadcast, which has been one of my personal favourite games of this decade. With the main narrative concluding at the beginning of last year, I hoped that the developers hadn’t finished their time with National Nightly News, and fortunately they have this morning confirmed that broadcasting will recommence in March.

Notgames has confirmed their news-editing simulation game will be carried across to the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 starting 23 March 2023 via the Xbox Marketplace and PlayStation Store. Given the chaos of the controls with a keyboard and mouse alone, I am curious to see how they will adapt their control scheme for console-specific controls.

Furthermore, Not for Broadcast will be receiving its first DLC expansion titled Live & Spooky. Following the lovable Patrick Bannon, the anchor and his crew head to an abandoned backlot owned by his late father. Rumor has it that it’s haunted following a murder long-ago, but that’s patently ridiculous… right? There’s no such thing as ghosts, obviously. And definitely no deep, dark secrets to be uncovered. Still, you’re calling the shots and picking which rooms the crew investigates. Whatever you discover, it’s your job to make it into thrilling TV with the aid of some impromptu special effects and the input of a 100% certified genuine spirit medium on the set. What could possibly go wrong?

NotGames has also confirmed one more reveal is “just around the corner”, describing it as a “real eye-opener’, so keep an eye out in the coming weeks and months for more news.
