Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Newest Cinderace Tera Raid Event Cranks Up the Difficulty

Rather than just handing out event Pokémon to players of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet through Mystery Gift, The Pokémon Company and Game Freak are running a series of online 7-star Tera Raid events over the coming months. As the 7-star implies, these battles are meant to be some of the more difficult out there – but how hard are they exactly? The first, which commenced shortly after launch, was for a Dragon-Tera Charizard, which provided you had a Level 100 Azumarill could be made short work of. The second, which has just commenced, is for Generation VIII’s Cinderace with a Fighting Tera element.

With multiple strategies floating around including those for Slowbro, Espathra, Armarouge/Ceruledge, Annihilape – what we do know is that players are taking much longer to clear, with a significant spike in difficulty. In my experience I still haven’t cleared the raid after a few hours of grinding, despite easily clearing the 7-star Charizard raid on my first attempt.

For those interested, the specifics of the event Cinderace are below. Players will have two opportunities to catch them, the first being right now (Until Saturday 1 January 2023 at 23.59 UTC), with the second being a fortnight later (Friday 13 January 2023 00.00 UTC until 15 January 2023 at 23.59 UTC).
