Demo Goes Live Today for Star Ocean: The Divine Force

The latest video game to jump aboard the pre-release demo train is Star Ocean: The Divine Force (Aka. Star Ocean 6), with developer Tri-Ace and publisher Square Enix today releasing the free consumer demo on all supported consoles. This release comes a little more than a month out from the game’s October 27, 2022 release date for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. A PC release is also scheduled for the same date, however no demo has been released as of writing.

In the demo version of Star Ocean: The Divine Force, players will experience the beginning story of Raymond, one of the game’s dual protagonists. The objective of this demo is to give players a sampling of the game’s sci-fi fantasy world and narrative, along with its RPG action combat system.

Developed by long-time Star Ocean developer tri-Ace Inc, Star Ocean The Divine Force is the sixth major instalment in the Star Ocean series, and is pitched as telling “a gripping story that seamlessly melds science fiction and fantasy elements”. The game features dual protagonists, players can choose the protagonist of their choice and enjoy the story of Raymond, the captain of the space trading ship, Ydas, or Laeticia, the princess-knight of a kingdom on the underdeveloped planet, Aster IV. Fate will bring Raymond, Laeticia, and several other ally characters together.
