Community Sim Game Hokko Life Leaves Early Access, Officially Launches on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch

Community/Life Simulators have been the go-to for relaxing experiences over the past few years following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the likes of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and other games like it enjoying strong reception. Another game of the genre, Hokko Life from developer Wonderscope Games and publisher Team17, has enjoyed the last year on Steam Early Access where it has enjoyed mostly positive reviews. But now, today, the game is casting off its ‘Early Access’ banner and officially releasing on the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch platforms.

Hokko Life invites players to experience life at their new home in Hokko, with “elcoming townsfolk to befriend, minigames to play, fish and bugs to catch, an intricate design tool to craft new objects and patterns, unique locations to explore, and a whole town to customise and cultivate”. Starting with a very familiar way of entering the game world for the first time, Wonderscope Games hope “there’s something to do from the second the train pulls into town and players take their first steps”.

The official release of Hokko Life is complemented by the official Version 1.0 update also going live across all platforms. This update introduces a new desert island location, the addition of archaeology, three new design tool materials, new tropical and ocean fish to catch, new tropical butterflies, a new community designed villager called Ramesh, and more. Priced at $19.99/€19.99/£15.99 or local equivalent, Hokko Life is now available via Steam, the PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace and Nintendo eShop for each supported console. Physical editions are also being made available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
