In Genshin Impact, Qiqi is known by some as the 5* Character that constantly comes up when it comes to the 50:50 chance of obtaining the feature character on an Event Wish Banner. For me, that role is not filled by Qiqi but rather Diluc. This isn’t a bad thing at all, with Diluc being a much better character in terms of both narrative importance and gameplay versatility, but alas, has still proven to be a pity pull ruiner to the point he is my only (almost) full-constellation 5* character by a significant margin.
But today having Diluc as my main DPS has proven to be highlight with the recently released Version 2.8 update for Genshin Impact, introducing the premium ‘Red Dead of Night’ outfit exclusively for the character. While not a cheap cash shop exclusive outfit, albeit at a slightly reduced price for the next month or so, it makes the character look so much cooler – trading his typical black outfit for more impressive crimson red garb, his ponytail in a more charming upright position, and featuring new idle animations + voice lines for elemental skill actions and general comments.
While its appeal is limited to whether you want to spend just shy of $50 AUD on a costume, and furthermore whether you are interested in playing as or even own Diluc. I would argue that spending that much money on a costume is a bit much… but here I am having done it. But I gotta say the outfit makes him all the more interesting, giving him the standard of outfit that we can expect for newly released characters. For those who do not own Diluc, for a limited time during this version, you will be able to obtain a free costume for the 4* character Fischl.
One of the outfits Diluc wears during covert actions, it resembles a flame dancing in the shadows. The crimson red traces it leaves behind at the edges of the enemy’s vision will scar their nightmares forever.
“Let’s go, and root out the danger lurking in the shadows.”
