Genshin Impact Version 2.7 Delayed Due to Ongoing COVID-19 Issues in China

Since launching Genshin Impact in 2020, HoyoLab has been very consistent and meticulous in their regular major updates to the free-to-play open-world adventure game. However, understandably given everything going on in China around COVID-19 measures, they have not managed to meet their typical deadline to release Genshin Impact Version 2.7. This has meant that, for example, the latest wish gacha for Ayaka has been extended indefinitely, and in the interim – a number of older events such as ‘Marvelous Merchandise’ is being re-run to help tide players over.

Given that the delay would have at least in part been due to the ongoing pandemic, compensation in my opinion isn’t necessary (but is very much welcome), Hoyolab have laid out plans to offer players compensation for every week the update is delayed starting 11 May 2022.

Those who have reached Adventure Rank 5 or above by 11 May 2022 will be eligible for the following compensation package every week, made available on Wednesdays:

  • Primogem x400
  • Fragile Resin x1
  • Hero’s Wit x7
  • Mystic Enhancement Ore x16
  • Mora x 120,000

While nothing substantial, it does offer a few wish pulls that could help some nab Kamisato Ayaka, one of the most desirable characters in-game as of writing.
