Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town Heads to PS4 in 2022

Casting aside the game’s Nintendo Switch console exclusivity later this year, Marvelous Europe and XSEED Games has confirmed Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town will be headed to the PlayStation 4 later this year. The game will be available both digitally and physically via the PlayStation Store and gaming retailers respectively at a price of €39.99 / £34.99 or local equivalent. At the moment, only a standard edition of the game has been announced.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is the latest instalment in Marvelous’ long running Bokujou Monogatari (牧場物語) series, which until 2014 was known as the Harvest Moon series internationally. Players will fill the shoes of a young, ambitious explorer who arrives in Olive Town, a picturesque seaside community on the edge of the untamed frontier. Here, they will work to bring life back into their grandfather’s rather dilapidated farm.

They’ll clear the land, repair old facilities, and place new ones wherever they see fit, levelling up their farming skills and crafting a variety of decorations and facilities, from fences and automatic feeders for livestock to sprinklers for crops! And though it may at first appear to be a sleepy burg, Olive Town is home to dozens of unique characters to befriend – and perhaps form a romantic bond with – when players are ready to take a break from building their dream farm.

Check out some screenshots of the game below, and expect to hear a more specific release window aside from Summer 2022 (Northern Hemisphere) / Winter 2022 (Southern Hemisphere) in the coming months.
