Star Citizen’s Free Fly Experiences Running Until 25 February

Cloud Imperium Games are hosting one of their semi-regular free fly weeks for their ambitious sci-fi game Star Citizen. From now until 25 February 2022, Star Citizen will be fully free to download and play in its current Alpha state. During this free fly period, all players (newcomers, returning free flyers and backers) will gain access to five of the game’s ships to experience, each offering a small sample of the career paths and play styles they aim to have accessible to players in the final ships.

The five ships on offer include the all-rounder Beginner Ship, the RSI Aurora MR, the slightly luxurious Origin Jumpworks 100i solo-touring ship, the rugged Consolidated Outlands Nomad hauler, the dubious Drake Interplanetary Cutlass Black fighting craft, and the MISC Prospector industrial miner.

In development by Cloud Imperium Games and their studios across North America and Europe, Star Citizen is being helmed by Wing Commander (1990s) creator Chris Roberts. The game has currently been in a long-term alpha phase with no confirmed release date. Despite this, the studio has raised more than $435 million USD through on-going crowdfunding. Please keep in mind should you decide to purchase towards Star Citizen, that this is an incomplete project and that you are pledging towards an extended crowdfunding campaign with no 100% guarantee of a finished product.
