Formerly one of the big visual novel exclusives for PlayStation consoles, starting with the PlayStation Portable in Japan and working its way up to the PlayStation 4 worldwide, in recent years the Danganronpa franchise has worked its way onto other platforms including the Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam). Developer and publisher Spike Chunsoft has today released the game onto the only platform which has not received upupu~ levels of despair, making Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Available on the Xbox One and Windows 10 platforms. Furthermore, the game is now available as part of the Xbox Game Pass for Xbox and PC.
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is the first entry in the Danganronpa visual novel franchise, introducing the killing game between high school students trapped in Hope’s Peak Academy, and the class trials they face to weed out the killers. It all starts when Monokuma, a self-proclaimed headmaster, traps extremely talented high schoolers from around the world inside his academy. To escape, Monokuma forces the students to play a killing game and identify the murderer in twisted Class Trials. When a body is discovered, you will investigate, gather evidence, and question your classmates before the turbulent spectacle of a Class Trial.
What does the Anniversary Edition of the game entail? In addition to the core game, players are able to access a gallery where they can listen to character voices, view character expressions, in-game illustrations, character references and more.
