Co-Op Features and Console Upgrades Detailed for Dying Light 2: Stay Human

Mere weeks from their launch of Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Techland has shared new information about the upcoming action-RPG, including upgrade paths for those on last generation platforms, and how the game’s op-op will function.

It has been confirmed that those who own a PlayStation 4 copy of Dying Light 2: Stay Human will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version free of charge, once they manage to acquire a unit of the hard-to-find console. Furthermore, the game will also support Microsoft’s Smart Delivery Service, allowing Xbox One players to upgrade to the current-gen version on the Xbox Series X|S.

Cross-platform and Cross-Generation co-operative play has also been detailed, which will be available at launch. Cross-play between Steam and Epic Games Store users will work once the game is released on February 4. How much of Dying Light 2: Stay Human can you play with your friends? With the exception of the prologue, the entirety of the experience will be playable in co-op. All session guests can keep their acquired items and player progression, and any narrative-influencing choices will be made by the host of the session, although participants are allowed to vote.

Techland has also announced they will be supporting Dying Light 2: Stay Human for five years, stating that players can “expect a lot of exciting new content and expansions”.

Developed and published by Techland, Dying Light 2: Stay Human will launch 5 February 2022 on the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. You can pre-order the game via your local video game retailer, or through the links on the game’s official pre-order website.
