Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction Launches January 2022 with Buddy Pass System

Ubisoft has this week confirmed that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction will be launching worldwide on 20 January 2022 for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. Priced at $69.95 AUD (PC) and $79.95 AUD (console) or local equivalent, and come with two coupons for use with the newly introduced “Buddy Pass” system.

The Buddy Pass tokens are pitched as allowing those who buy the game to “invite to friends to play for free when [they] own the full game”, which would be a very generous offer. However, these passes only offer 14 days of playtime on most platforms, with any progression transferring over if/when they purchase the full game.

Promoted features of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction includes an Operator progression system, four distinct difficulty settings, 12 all-new and unpredictable maps (roughly three times the size of previous Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege maps) across four dynamic regions, over 60 weapons, legacy Rainbow Six Siege tech and 15 exclusive REACT tech, and free post-launch support including a weekly endgame challenge mode.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction recruits players to join the Rainbow Exogenous Analysis & Containment Team (REACT) and assemble a one to three-player squad of beloved operators from Rainbow Six Siege to face mysterious alien creatures known as Archæans. For the first time, players can also progress through a custom leveling system for each of the 18 operators, allowing them to advance in various new ways. As they level up, players will also permanently unlock new containment zones, operators, customisation items, new REACT tech, higher difficulty levels, in-game lore, and more.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is in development by Ubisoft Montreal, with support by three associate Ubisoft studios: Bordeaux, Bucharest and Saguenay.
