Marvelous Bring Knockout: Home Fitness to Europe and Australia

With the COVID-19 pandemic putting a limit on how much exercise many can get, some video game developers have been monopolising this time period and have spawned a renaissance of the fitness game genre. The latest to hit store shelves is Knockout: Home Fitness for the Nintendo Switch, published by Marvelous and developed by Pocket in partnership with one of Japan’s major personal training apps.

Knockout: Home Fitness seeks to let players “immerse themselves in calorie-burning exercises simply by using the Nintendo Switch joy-cons. As part of these exercises, players will be introduced to numerous martial arts practices, including Boxing, Karate and Muay Thai, while being supported by one of four different in-game trainers, each of which will be fully voiced in English, French and German languages.

The game is designed to allow you to jump in and do a few exercises, or undertake daily personal training customised to your specific goals. Those after more casual experiences can dive into 3 minute fitness sessions, quick and easy workouts from any of the routines available in-game.

Not sure about whether Knockout: Home Fitness is the fitness game for you? A demo is now available to download on the Nintendo eShop, which includes a tutorial, which will guide players through the mechanics of the game, and five different workout sessions. The demo is limited to twenty workout sessions per Nintendo account.
