[PlayStation Showcase] Gran Turismo 7 to Receive Multi-Generation Release in March 2022

Being the PlayStation brand’s premiere car racing brand, you would expect this to be the series they bring out to showcase exactly what development focused exclusively on the PlayStation 5 to look like. But alas, it has been confirmed that Gran Turismo 7, in development by the first-party Polyphony Digital studio, will launch on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on 4 March 2022.

According to Sony Interactive Entertainment:

Gran Turismo 7 is both the culmination of the series which answers the expectations of Gran Turismo fans throughout the years, and at the same time it is a title that marks a beginning of a difficult mission to contain the full breadth of car culture from the past into a single video game.

Some promoted features of the game (which can be viewed in full detail HERE) include:

Campaign Mode
According to Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of Gran Turismo, “long-time fans of the Gran Turismo series strongly desired the return of the GT Campaign mode” and this mode will be returning!

Livery Editor
Introduced in GT Sport, Gran Turismo 7 will feature the livery editor which will have an improved user interface and improvements to utility and accessibility.

Scapes Photography Mode
Got your dream vehicle and desire to take a photo of it in the right setting? Scapes, according to Yamauchi-san, “allows you to have complete control of photorealistic shots using HDR technology (when you have a HDR capable display), expert level effects, and even panning shots. You will be able to photograph your car freely in photo spots across 43 countries and over 2,500 locations, and every moment captured can be shared with others that has same love and passion as you”.

A Number of Legendary Circuits
In addition to the return of the GT Campaign Mode, “historic circuits” such as Trial Mountain and High-Speed Ring will be making a comeback.

Expect to hear more about Gran Turismo 7 in the coming weeks.
