The Extra Content of NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139

After its original release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 more than a decade ago, Square Enix will be publishing a remaster of NieR on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this coming Friday. If you need any more reason to be hyped about picking up this cult classic, Square Enix has confirmed that the “Brother Nier” protagonist is not the only new inclusion in the game, nor will it just feature updated visuals.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 is confirmed to feature multiple new features, including a re-recorded soundtrack, full-voiced dialogue and a wealth of brand new story content. That’s right, scattered throughout the game will be new story content, including a brand new “Mermaid” episode featuring a wrecked ship and a little girl…

A full list of highlighted new features include:

Extra Episode
Players can enjoy new scenarios and exhilarating boss battles by playing through the game, which includes an all-new “Mermaid” episode featuring a wrecked ship and a little girl, and more.

Extra Dungeons from “15 Nightmares”
Previously released as downloadable content for the original release in Japan and similar to “The World of Recycled Vessel” in the West, fans will be able to undertake a series of challenging dungeons as the “15 Nightmares” protagonist in the world of the recycled vessel. Playing through the dungeons will unlock a variety of weapons, as well as extra costumes, “Kabuki” and “Samurai.”

You will also be able to change the appearance of enemy bullets to Emil’s face through the option menu after obtaining either of the costumes.

Similar to how this was a chance for western players originally to play as Brother Neir, “The World of Recycled Vessel” gives players the ability to play as Papa Nier.

Soundtrack from NieR:Automata
Players will unlock an option to switch to select background music tracks from the critically acclaimed NieR:Automata after completing the first playthrough.

Guest Cast from NieR:Automata
The English and Japanese voice actors of 2B and 9S will be featured in the game.

Free DLC at Launch
In addition to the costumes obtainable from “15 Nightmares”, starting at launch, players will be able to download a free “4 YoRHa” costume pack to swap their character’s costumes and weapons to designs from NieR:Automata, including 9S, 2B and A2.
