Supporters of the PlayStation line of consoles are undoubtedly awaiting the moment that pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 (PS5) open up. But their hype may get a little bit higher from today with Sony Interactive Entertainment commencing their first global ad campaign for the next-generation console. According to Sony Interactive Entertainment, this is what they see their global digital ad as depicting:
In the first global digital ad for the PS5 console, players will see the new console’s features come to life through a young woman’s eyes and her movements. It starts as she walks across a frozen lake, feeling the crack of ice at her feet. As the character senses danger, the sudden explosive reveal of the kraken from the icy surface showcases the haptic feedback sensation that can be felt from the DualSense wireless controller for the PS5 console.
Sound then comes from all directions as the central character reacts to everything she hears – whether it’s coming from the front, the side, above, or from behind her – showcasing the PS5 console’s Tempest 3D AudioTech. Closing out the spot – as the central character draws her bow – the tension of her bowstring is a sensation players will also feel, made possible through the DualSense wireless controller’s adaptive triggers.
The PlayStation 5, along with its competitor the Xbox Series X, will be released worldwide starting at an unspecified date in the 2020 Holiday Season. As launch gets closer, expect more news over the coming weeks and months.
In a post made on the PlayStation Blog made by Vice President of Global Marketing Mary Yee, they also took the opportunity to share some comments by members of the game development community – particularly around the DualSense Wireless Controller and its built-in capabilities.
